Mike Bieg, P.E. Co-Founder

As Co-Founder of IMI, Mike Bieg has played a defining role in shaping the company’s growth, culture, and long-term direction. In 1995, Mike and Tim Schaeffer founded their first company under the IMI banner, icon Mechanical. Since then, IMI has grown to include icon Mechanical, iENG Design, iSuite, and eagle Controls. Today, Mike continues to serve as a trusted strategic advisor to IMI business leaders, helping influence key decisions and guide the organization as it continues to expand nationally.

Mike is recognized as a pioneer in the mechanical construction industry, particularly for his early adoption of prefabrication, modularization, and off-site construction. His ability to anticipate market trends, embrace innovation, and position the company ahead of industry change has helped drive IMI’s sustained growth and success. Equally important has been his focus on people. Throughout his career, Mike has placed safety and employees first, while helping build a strong ownership culture centered on accountability, opportunity, and long-term commitment. That commitment ultimately helped lead to the establishment of IMI’s Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), creating an employee-owned company and extending the founders’ ownership philosophy throughout the organization. That combination of innovation, strategic vision, and people-first leadership has helped transform IMI from a start-up into one of the industry’s most respected and admired organizations.

Tim Schaeffer, P.E. Co-Founder

As Co-Founder of IMI, Tim Schaeffer continues to play an instrumental role in shaping the company’s growth, technical capabilities, and long-term direction. Friends since high school and college roommates at Missouri S&T, Tim and co-founder, Mike Bieg, brought complementary strengths to the company founded in 1995. Tim’s engineering and design expertise provided the technical foundation that helped differentiate icon Mechanical and establish the platform for what IMI has become today.

Tim was a driving force behind IMI’s commitment to integrated engineering, design, and construction. As the organization expanded, he took the reins of iENG Design CM group, helping build and lead engineering and design for projects around the country within the IMI family of companies. Tim also played an important role in establishing IMI as an employee-owned company and remains deeply committed to preserving the ownership culture that has helped fuel its success. Today, he serves as a trusted strategic advisor to IMI business leaders, providing perspective on key decisions and helping guide the organization through its rapid national expansion while ensuring the principles and culture established by its founders remain at the center of its growth.

Jeff Rush, P.E. Chief Executive Officer

As Chief Executive Officer of IMI, Jeff provides the strategic vision and leadership that drives the company's continued growth, operational excellence, and long-term success. He leads the enterprise by aligning business strategy, operational performance, and market expansion across IMI's family of companies, while fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and employee ownership. Working closely with the Executive Leadership Team, Jeff is focused on strengthening client relationships, developing future leaders, and positioning IMI for sustained national growth.

Jeff has more than three decades of experience in the mechanical construction industry, having advanced from project management into executive leadership through a proven track record of delivering complex projects and building high-performing organizations. Under his leadership, IMI has experienced significant growth, expanded its geographic footprint, and strengthened its reputation as one of the nation's premier employee-owned mechanical contractors. His practical, people-first leadership style and deep operational expertise continue to guide IMI's commitment to exceptional client service, strategic growth, cand industry leadership.

Luke Albert Chief Financial Officer

As Chief Financial Officer of IMI, Luke steers overall financial health and strategy, driving sustainable growth, strengthening operational efficiency, long-term financial stability, and value creation. He leads financial planning and analysis, reporting, cash management, and capital allocation. Luke has close to two decades of experience in the engineering and construction industry. His experience prior to IMI included working with general contractors in the heavy highway, water, power, LNG, and federal markets. He advanced from project accounting roles into executive leadership through a passion of developing talent, strengthening internal processes, and translating complex financial data into clear, actionable insight for leadership teams.

Jess Zimmerman Chief Legal Officer & Corporate Secretary

As a member of IMI's executive leadership team, Jess partners with the CEO, Board of Directors, and business leaders to help shape the company's strategy, strengthen organizational performance, and create long-term value for its employee-owners. As Chief Legal Officer, he leads a broad portfolio that includes legal affairs, enterprise risk, corporate governance, strategic business initiatives, and data and business intelligence.

Jon drives digital transformation across the enterprise by advancing scalable platforms, modernizing infrastructure, and enabling data-driven decision-making. As Senior Vice President of IMI's Nashville operations, Jack provides executive leadership for one of the company's fastest-growing regions, overseeing operations, project execution, client relationships, and strategic growth initiatives. Jack brings over 32 years of mechanical contracting experience leading large, high-profile projects throughout the Southeast. His background spans every phase of project delivery, from preconstruction and design collaboration through fabrication, installation, and commissioning. Known for his hands-on leadership and operational depth, Jack is committed to developing high-performing teams and delivering results that support IMI's continued growth.

David Beard, P.E. Senior Vice President, IMI Charlotte

As Senior Vice President of IMI’s Charlotte operations, David leads strategic growth, operations, and project execution throughout the Carolinas and surrounding markets. He is responsible for developing client relationships, supporting business development initiatives, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and with the highest level of quality. Working closely with project teams and executive leadership, David helps drive operational excellence while expanding IMI’s presence across the region.
